Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) is designed to provide first responders,
nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians with
the ability to assess and stabilize patients with burn injuries during
the first critical hours post injury. ABLS programs support emergency
preparedness needs for disaster management.
The ABLS Handbook© is a CD which contains course materials
and slides. The ABLS Handbook© is a reference guide for immediate burn
care up to the first 24 hours post burn injury, a quick and handy tool
for specific burn injury questions, and the course content is
appropriate for all disciplines.
ABLS objectives include the ability for the participant
to evaluate a patient with a serious burn injury, manage the airway and
support ventilation, define the magnitude and severity of the burn
injury, initiate and monitor fluid resuscitation, identify and establish
priorities of treatment, and prioritize patient transfer to burn
